Updating!

Clark told me to get on here and do some updating. We are watching game 4 of the NBA finals, so I will be a little distracted as I type this.

I have been doing a program the past 3 weeks, "Successful Weight Loss School" with Nichole Kellerman (www.nicholekellerman.com) and it has led to many new recipes. I have been updating facebook with our many experiments (yes, mostly from Pinterest). Many have been quite delectable. We always try more things right after payday - not a coincidence. Side note: I would love to start reading novels again, so if anyone has any great recommendations, I am all ears!

Work is mundane. I am almost done. July 3rd will be my official last day. My mom & sister are coming to town July 7th. My surgery is July 9th. That pretty much sums up everything.

and Clark is being Clark.

Clark's Update

Since Amy put me on the spot I figured I would throw out an update.

Life is good. Amy has a teaching Job to look forward to and I rarely have to working anything but normal business hours. That will continue for about another year since I am going to take on some new opportunities at work. Not to mention I'm the backup person to travel to Moscow in June, but the backups never get to go so its just a happy thought for now.

We just decided (Yesterday) to take a quick vacation to Universal Studios in Orlando. We had Dealta travel vouchers from a pervious trip that we needed to use so why not right? So we leave April 16th for a 3 day gettaway. I know we are both looking forward to it as we will both be working a lot this summer. Not to mention we get to eat at Texas de Brazil and use my B-day coupon!

We are enjoying the spring weather. Some of our garden has been planted. I built another garden box last week with some scrap wood. We planted all our seeds and they are starting to sprout in our starter greenhouse. So far the dogs dont seem too interested in the new garden box but we will see how that goes.

Lets hope we are more committed to updating our Blog!

Amy's updates

Ok, so its obviously been a while since our last post. "Someone" dropped the ball here.

Anyways. I have been "talking" with a private Christian school recently. They posted a job at the beginning of February and after a lengthy courtship, its official. As of yesterday I am their new math teacher! I couldn't be more excited. I will be doing what I love and have students that will, for the most part, want to learn. My last job almost shattered my whole perspective on teaching. It was demanding with very little reward. The few (very few) dedicated students I had were the only thing keeping me going. I love math and I love teaching, but teaching to those who would much rather have a relationship with their electronic devices than listen to anything I had to say is discouraging. With all that said, I am very hopeful in this position and I believe God has given me this opportunity. (On a side note: In one of my interviews, the head of the math department insinuated that she had many many applicants to choose from, but picked my resume out because of my computer science experience. I could not have been more thankful that God gave me the Grissom job. If it wasn't for Grissom, this might not be where I am right now.)

I am also starting my "summer job" tomorrow. I am fairly certain that they will have me working most evenings. It doesn't seem ideal to rarely see my spouse during the week, especially for a newlywed, but I told Clark I would have a great attitude no matter how difficult the schedule turns out to be. I hope he keeps me accountable to that promise. "Woo-hoo! I love fro-yo!!" (That's me being positive)

Quinn and Xander are doing great. Thank you for asking. I will tell Clark to post ASAP!

Christmas time is here

I am very aware we haven't blogged in a while....so, to update:

We have Christmas lights up on the house and our tree is decked out with presents underneath. (Clark is currently wrapping some of my presents as we speak.) I am done shopping for him and I am excited for him to open them!

I have been very exhausted with working my 2 jobs. I had four days in a row of working 10+ hours, not very fun. Definitely considering dropping of of those jobs. We'll see.

Going to Kentucky this Christmas and I am excited! Clark and I get to start our own traditions and create our own family Christmas memories. Yay!

Its Pumpkin Time!

So another week has gone by in the Herrington household. The highlight of our weekend has been carving our pumpkins. Amy wanted scary but cute and I wanted just plain scary. See if you can guess who did which one.

This week went fairly well. Amy is still on the hunt for a fulltime job but is enjoying (well by enjoy I mean its not driving her mad yet) teaching and working at the salon. I worked lots of extra hours so I will be taking Monday off (Amy is a little jealous). I wound up going to Talledaga on Saturday for the NASCAR Truck series race with a friend from work. We found free tickets last week at work so I figured I should experience what rednecks do for a good time. We even managed to scrap up some scanners to listen to the drivers and crews talk. It was fun but I could do without all the beer, smoking, and pimps sitting behind us.

Oh, and on another note we are going to Boston on MLK weekend thanks to Southwest Airlines Winter Sale! We actually going with Claire and John so it should make for a good time and plenty of clam chowder.
